This year my mum and I are walking/running 80 miles in january for Operation Bletchley. During the holidays I walk with my mother. After the holidays, she will do most of the miles.

And I will be the (junior) codebreaker.

In de zomer van 2020 deed ik voor de eerste keer mee met Operation Bletchley.

Een gave virtuele wandel-uitdaging van 50 mijl, 80 kilometer. De tocht ging van Bletchley Park naar de War Rooms in Londen, naar Churchil.

Bletchley Park speelde in de Tweede Wereldoorlog een belangrijke rol. De Government Code and Cypher School was hier gevestigd. Hier werden codes van de vijand ontcijferd. 

Tijdens de tocht ga je terug de geschiedenis in en je krijgt elke keer een briefing. Na 5 mijl een code die je moet kraken. Op 3 verschillende niveaus: junior, codebreaker en expert. Dus voor iedereen is het mogelijk mee te doen!! 

De geheim agenten die meedoen, hebben een eigen Facebook pagina, waar alle avonturen gedeeld worden. Zo ook mijn droom: mijn eigen museum. En ik kreeg gewoon spullen uit Engeland opgestuurd door veteranen! Gaaf he!!

Summer 2020 was my first time Operation Bletchley.

A really awesome virtual walking challenge of 50 miles. A challenge from Bletchley Park to Churchils War Rooms in London.

During WW2, Government Code and Cypher School was established in Bletchley Park. The place where codes of the enemies were cracked.

During the challenge, you go back in history and you will be briefed. After every five miles, you have a code to crack. Possible in 3 levels: junior, codebreaker and cypher expert.

Agents who participate have their own Facebook Group, and they can share their adventures. My dream, my own museum was shared too. And some agents send me stuff for my museum!! Isn't that amazing?
